There's so much put out there about Momusu (the shorter version for the group name) that when reading up Wikipedia, decided it's the best place to find the history and general information about Morning Musume. For regular information go here. I read the Wikipedia entry on Morning Musume and it's very, very accurate, so I suggest you read that to get a little informed with the group. As for this section - it's just another one of my lovely ramblings, if you don't exactly want to read wiki.

Momusu, as you can all see, is a JPOP group that consists of all girls (hence "musume" means "daughter"), led by one man: Tsunku. Members rotate every couple years into "generations" and the eldest member becomes leader once the previous leader has graduated and so forth. In my opinion, they're an awesome group if you love high-pitched dance sounds. For an all girl group, they're not that bad, and if there are any bad singers in the group, they have little to no lines at all. The main vocals of this group are Ai Takahashi, Reina Tanaka, (somewhat) Risa Niigaki, and Aika Mitsui. There are a total of 8 generations, but the eldest generation as of 2007 is the 5th generation (Risa Niigaki's generation). Morning Musume., however, is only one group under the Hello!project, which contains many other artists from Morning Musume., and a bunch of soloists. Popular soloists include Maki Goto, Aya Matsuura, and Abe Natsumi. Out of H!P (Hello!Project), Morning Musume. is the most popular. Did I mention that Hello!Project are all females except for Tsunku? That's really the gist of what this group is all about. In the next couple years, we'll probably see Risa Niigaki work her way as leader, and pass her leadership to Eri Kamei of the 6th gen. The generations are listed below:

6th Generation: Eri Kamei, Sayumi Michishige, Reina Tanaka
7th Generation: Koharu Kusumi
8th Generation: Aika Mitsui, JunJun (Chinese), LinLin (Chinese)
